Captured at last!! – a kingfisher photographed at West Withy Farm lake. It has been a bit of a ‘cat and mouse’ game to see and photograph the kingfisher sat on a branch with a fish in its mouth. It is not a great photograph – the skills (and also the equipment) of a sports photographer are needed. Or as Lorena put it – ‘any old excuse to spend 3 hours sat in the sun’
A report of the sighting will now be submitted to Exmoor National Park’s Wildwatch 2015 which is logging sightings of a range of rarer species – cuckoos, red kites and kingfishers.
